I Can Do All Things Through Christ, Who Strengthens Me.

This morning when I woke up, a well known verse immediately came to mind:

“I can do all things, through Christ who strengthens me”. – Philippians 4:13

Given what I am currently walking through (no pun intended), it was a timely moment, to be sure. Thinking back to when I almost lost my life to Covid, to dealing with my current state of recovering from Guillain-Barré Syndrome and relying on a wheelchair for mobility, that verse speaks to me on a different level.

What does that verse say to you?

With what you are walking through right now, does it give you an extra push forward? Does it bring peace or contentment? Maybe it brings questions on the intent behind the statement.

Paul speaks to striving to know suffering, that he would be “Like Him in His death”, and encourages everyone to join with him and stand firm in the Lord.

A key moment: “I have learned, in whatever situation I am, to be content.”

It can be thought as quite difficult to be content, when you have had independence your whole life, and are now currently confined to a severely limited level of independence and abilities, yet when you think of the reality of salvation, that rings true, doesn’t it? No matter the circumstance, we have the knowledge of the saving power of Jesus Christ, and therefore can do all things, through Christ who strengthens me.

I encourage you as you go through your day to consider it… all that God has done for us, and for you specifically. And in doing so, come to the place of contentment, knowing that you can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you.
